Hanging Out in the Recliner of Life

Ahhhh, here I am, sitting in my recliner at last, tomorrow's prep all finished, computer in my lap, tea at hand.
The recliner is a pitiful thing, old and tattered and covered with throws to conceal the ravages of time. I know that nothing says "1970s tacky suburban den" like a recliner, but I've had this one for over 20 years, and it's the furniture equivalent of comfort food -- like a chair version of mac and cheese. I inherited it from a grad school friend when I took over his apartment, and I've hauled it with me every place I've lived since.
Even though I have not gotten as far on my Kinky Kristmas fic as I'd hoped, I'm still feeling good because
A) my excellent beta (*waves; sends virtual champagne*) has read my
snapelyholidays story and improved it no end. I've done a round of major revisions, and after another read-through or two, it will be ready to send off, probably even before the deadline. I'm really looking forward to that fest: only two more weeks till it starts posting.
B) some of my stories have been nominated for the Deathly Hallows Awards, which is a lovely ego-boost. I know I have you, my dear flisties, to thank for the honor, and thank you I do! I'm even competing with myself in one of the categories.
C) In the recent
minerva_fest, I received stories and art based on seven of the twelve prompts I'd submitted. That's some kind of record, I think, and I really enjoyed every response.
D) Next Tuesday, I'm going to NYC for the Thanksgiving holiday, and I can't wait. I haven't seem my partner and the Child since August. I'll go to see DH while I'm there; the Child and I have seen every HP film together since he was six, and even though he doesn't like the books, he enjoys our film ritual. (He knows all about fanfic, and sometimes he will entertain me by spouting extemporaneous Harry/Draco fic. Rather frighteningly, he's got the story conventions down [although he obligingly fades to black before anything happens that could embarrass us all].)
ETA: I just talked to the family, and the Child tells me that Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson were at the Lincoln Center complex today (where the Child's school is). He says a lot of students/other people (or as he put it, "a bunch of dorks") stood in line for hours to see them.
I'll do a proper recs post soon, but in the meantime, here are two items that might entertain you:
Severus and uh. . .pals. Down, boys! bad dogs!
Visit Harry Potter's grave
