Here is my entry for the 2022 edition of [info]hoggywartyxmas. It was written for my beloved friend [personal profile] lash_larue -- Lash, I was honored to be able to write for you in the final year of this best of fests.

It's an uplifting, comforting story, I hope -- given the state of the world, we all need it!

This story was my entry in the 2013 [info]hoggywartyxmas fest, one of the best HP fests going. My recipient was [personal profile] dueltastic, who writes some of my very favorite Minerva/Severus fics and who asked for a Minerva/Aberforth/Severus threesome. I started out to write that story, but Minerva simply refused to participate. Still, I think I ended up with a threesome of sorts, anyway -- just a little different from the norm.

I normally write an older Severus, one who is in his mid-thirties, a man who has had time for some seasoning and experience. In this story, though, he's very young, only 22, and I really enjoyed writing him as a bitter, cynical, paranoid, naive, and yet (to me, anyway) oddly sympathetic boy. I still felt like putting him in a full body-bind, though; he's very exasperating. (In an endearing way, as long as I only have to write him and not live with him /g/).

I also enjoyed writing Aberforth. During my first few years in HP fandom, I gave him little thought. But in the last year or so, he's grown on me. This is my third Aberforth story, and while I fear I'm making him a bit too lovable (albeit gruffly so), I'm enjoying his company.

Many, many thanks to the incomparable [livejournal.com profile] therealsnape, beta-reader extraordinaire and a fest mod whose price is beyond rubies (or any other precious thing you care to name).

The reveals have been posted at [info]hp_friendship, and what a fine fest it was. Here's my entry:

Author: [profile] kellychambliss
Prompt/Prompt Author: "Minerva, Aberforth. They must have known each other, what with Minerva and Albus working so closely. I'd love to see a friendship between these two." -- from [personal profile] therealsnape.
Title: Lift Your Glasses High
Characters: Aberforth Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, Elphinstone Urquart
Rating: PG
Warnings: none
Word Count: ~4450
Summary: On the night of Albus's funeral, Minerva pays a visit to Aberforth.
Author's Notes: Though there's much about it I dislike, I've borrowed liberally from the Pottermore backstory for Minerva McGonagall. A thousand thanks to my kind beta and to the mods of this fine fest.

Here's my October entry for [info]daily_deviant. It hasn't exactly taken the comm by storm (in terms of response, anyway), but it was a lot of fun to write. (Thank you, Feather and Teddy!)

Title: Flying Dutchman
Author: [livejournal.com profile] kellychambliss
Pairing: Wilhelmina Grubbly-Plank/Aberforth Dumbledore
Rating: NC-17-ish
Kinks/Themes Chosen: Capnolagnia: arousal from watching others smoke
Other Warnings: none
Word Count: 1700
Summary: Nothing both soothes and arouses Aberforth like a whiff of Wilhelmina's pipe smoke.
Author's Notes: I have such a smoking-in-fanfic kink, you can't imagine. So I was really pleased to see this month's theme. And it was perfect for another favorite of mine, the pipe-smoking Wilhelmina Grubbly-Plank. In my head-canon, Wilhelmina is a dyke, but sometimes she makes an exception for Aberforth.

Flying Dutchman is a real pipe tobacco, and it always makes me (and apparently Aberforth) think of the famous legend.
