This story was my entry in the 2014 [info]hp_beholder fest. Although I didn't know it as I wrote, this year marked the end of this wonderful series. Beholder turned out a huge number of consistently high-quality stories and artworks featuring the HP characters I like best: those who, because of age or size or features, are rarely the focus of stories of love and romance.

I'm grateful and honored that I had the chance to participate in five of the seven editions of [info]hp_beholder. There are few others places in HP fandom where I would have found so many receptive, thoughtful readers for my OCs and for the pairings I was able to explore over the years: Minerva McGonagall/Severus Snape in 2010, Eileen Prince/Sybill Trelawney in 2011, Minerva McGonagall/Alastor Moody in 2012, Rolanda Hooch/Aurora Sinistra and Fat Lady/Violet in 2013, and this year's most unusual Minerva McGonagall/Neville Longbottom.

My unending thanks to the fest's originator, [livejournal.com profile] bethbethbeth, who ran it from 2008-2012, and to [livejournal.com profile] atdelphi, who kindly gave us two additional years. Thanks, too, to [livejournal.com profile] odogoddess, my prompter/recipient, for suggesting such a fascinating, unlikely pairing as Neville/Minerva.

Title: Roses in December
Rating: R
Pairing: Minerva McGonagall/Neville Longbottom
Additional Characters/Cameos: Colin Creevey**, Filius Flitwick, Poppy Pomfrey, Severus Snape, Pomona Sprout, Ginny Weasley
Word Count: ~12,600
Warnings/Content Information (Highlight to View): *Possible underage sex -- Neville is 17*.
Summary: As teacher and student, Professor McGonagall and Mr Longbottom understand their relationship very well. But what happens when they are forced to become Minerva and Neville? Set during the DH year.

**It has been pointed out to me, quite correctly, that as a Muggle-born, Colin Creevey would not have been at Hogwarts during the DH year. But I prefer to believe that he found a way to sneak back and that Snape would just have chosen to ignore his presence unless an issue were made of it. We know Colin was there, sadly, for the Battle.

Many thanks to my superbly-helpful and kind beta , [livejournal.com profile] therealsnape, and to B for the gift of plot. "It's an homage, Perry."

Title: The Muggles Have a Word For Them
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: Rolanda Hooch/Aurora Sinistra, Fat Lady/Violet, background Minerva McGonagall/Elphinstone Urquart
Word Count: 8250
Summary: In which the Fat Lady plays matchmaker and learns some new vocabulary.
Author's Notes: Though JKR may be coy when it comes to directly acknowledging same-sex relationships in HP, she's kindly given us subtext galore. Fat Lady/Violet is practically canon (if you ask me), and then there are all those lovely dykes with short grey hair and monocles. So I thought it was about time that someone brought their story out into the open.

The story takes place before the arrival of the Trio at Hogwarts -- c. 1986.

This story was my entry in the 2012 [info]hp_beholder fest, which, as most of you know, I consider to be the best HP fests running. My recipient was [livejournal.com profile] inspired_ideas.

The title is stolen from an Ingmar Bergman film of the 1950s, which was later the basis for the musical A Little Night Music. There's no similarity of plot, however.

My thanks to my brilliant beta, [livejournal.com profile] therealsnape.

Title: Smiles of a Summer Night
Author: [livejournal.com profile] kellychambliss

Word Count: ~8800
Summary: Minerva was the only woman who'd let him touch her since he lost his eye.

Title: Witness
Author: [livejournal.com profile] kellychambliss
Rating: NC-17
Pairings: Minerva McGonagall/Severus Snape
Word Count: 7700
Summary: Many years after Voldemort is finally overthrown, a Bulgarian former refugee comes forward to help answer one of the great mysteries of the wars.

Author's Notes: This story was my entry for this year's [info]hp_beholder fest.

A thousand heart-felt thanks to my two beta-readers, [livejournal.com profile] therealsnape and [livejournal.com profile] tetleythesecond, for their exceptional skills as editors and therapists.

This story diverges from canon sometime during the Battle of Hogwarts. There are OCs, and touch of voyeurism, and perhaps more sentiment is customary for Severus, but otherwise, no warnings.
