Summer Writing Plans
Jun. 1st, 2011 11:24 pmLet's see how much of the following I (a.k.a. the world's most egregious procrastinator/whinger) actually manage to accomplish:
I have already signed up for. . .
femgenficathon, for the third year. I wasn't going to participate, because I don't think I really have a gen sensibility, but it's such a good fest, and I've had fun writing for it. Plus, I have a sentimental attachment to it; it's for this fest that I wrote Majesty, the story that is probably my most successful in terms of number of recs and responses.
I am sorely tempted to sign up for. . .
hogwarts_houses because it's a novel premise that offers participants a lot of flexibility. Drawbacks: the deadline is August 3, which might be a bit tight for me, given how much I have to do this summer.
samhain_smut, which was a fun fest last year, and the fic would not be due until September.
I am already committed to. . .
--writing two drabbles as the result of lost bets to
tetleythesecond and
miss_morland. I've owed Miss M this drabble for at least a year now.
--I'll probably also have to write a loser-story for the upcoming Women's World Cup betting pool that some of the dear flisties are going to run.
--a birthday fanfic for my partner based on the fabulous television show Foyle's War. She's put in a request.
--a paper for the DiaCon Alley con in July
--two stories for
daily_deviant in June and August. (Yikes! The first one is due in two weeks!)
--a story I auctioned off for
helpthesouth and that was won by the lovely
therealsnape.
I would also like to work on. . .
--an original lesbian romance that my partner and I started as part of NaNoWriMo in 2008 and wrote about 15,000 words of
--my long-neglected professional essays
Good god. Seeing this list makes me realize that I am seriously deluding myself in thinking that I have a chance to do even half of this stuff. If I manage the drabbles, the birthday story, the Diacon paper, the Daily Deviants, the auction fic, and
femgenficathon, I'll be damned lucky.
Okay, I'd better not dare give
hogwarts_houses another thought.
I have already signed up for. . .
