Last Day! and Rec

As Beth-the-mod explains here, sign-ups for hp_beholder end tomorrow. The list of participants is swoon-worthy. Many of the best writers from last year are back for another round, and though I'm sorry to see a few names missing, there's been an influx of equally fine new authors.

So go sign up; what are you waiting for? It will be worth every agonizing moment of "why-the-hell-do-I-do-this-to-myself" composing angst.

While you wait for the great Beholder stories to start appearing, I recommend pale_moonlight's WIP, The Prisoner -- a well-written, atmospheric AU that looks at how the wizarding world might cope with the loss of its magic in the aftermath of the war. Great IC portraits of a damaged Remus, a stalwart Minerva, and a Severus who has survived only to barricade himself behind wards in the Hogwarts dungeons.

Other news -- a weekend with no papers to grade! I hope to work on my fics.
