3. Goblet of Fire
4. Deathly Hallows
5. Half-Blood Prince

1. Minerva McGonagall
2. Pomona Sprout

1. Sirius Black
2. James Potter
3. Sybill Trelawney

(Runners-up: Bellatrix, Grawp, Mundungus, Fleur, Dobby, Winky)

Favorite member of the Trio:
Hermione

Favorite magical creatures:
Not the ones I'd like to have, but the ones I find most fun [to read about] or imaginative:
1. Boggart
2. Dementor
3. Grindylow

Favorite family:
Dursleys (though that's probably mostly fanon)

Favorite villain:
Dolores Umbridge

Favorite Death Eater:
Lucius Malfoy

Favorite non-Hogwarts magical building:
Ministry of Magic

Favorite Diagon Alley location:
Flourish & Blotts

3 Favorite Spells:
1. Accio
2. Reparo
3. Wingardia LeviosA

3 Favorite Potions:
1. Murtlap Essence (I love that word "murtlap")
2. Felix Felicis
3. Hangover Potion (or is that just fanon?)

Favorite Unforgivable Curse:
Imperio

Favorite Department of Mysteries Room:
That room with all the prophecies

Biggest surprise:
Hard to say, now that I know canon so well. Probably the fact that "Professor Moody" was an imposter.

Biggest letdown:
The fact that there was no Minerva/Tom Riddle connection revealed in DH. I was so sure there would be: the timing (of their both being students at Hogwarts at the same time) seemed as if it couldn't be accidental. And then Harry's refusal to tell McG (in HBP) about the horcruxes -- I thought for sure it was because she would hold the key to the mystery of one of them. But alas: I underestimated the severity of JKR's dyscalculia. She apparently didn't intend McG and Riddle to be classmates at all; she just wasn't able to subtract 70 (McG's age in 1995, according to JKR) from 1995 and get 1925. In the world of JKR, 1995 minus 70 appears to equal 1935.

Favorite kind of transportation:
Hogwarts Express

Favorite Weasley:
Percy

Favorite Order member:
Minerva McGonagall

Favorite pet:
Fang

One character you'd bring back to life:
Mad-Eye Moody (since Snape didn't really die)

Favorite Harry moment:
In OotP, when Harry tries to find McGonagall in the hospital wing and is told she's been taken to St Mungo's. He finally realises how much he has counted on her to be "dependably, solidly present."

Favorite Ron moment:
When he figures out the chess game in PS -- perhaps his finest moment.

Favorite Hermione moment:
When she gets angry with Ron for calling McG names (a Hermione crush on McG is so canon)

Favorite Ginny moment:
When she points out to self-absorbed emo!Harry that he's not the only one who has been possessed by Voldemort. "I forgot," says Harry. Ginny is unimpressed. "Lucky you," she says "coolly." It's the first time I saw her as independent and strong.

Favorite Neville moment:
When McG tells him that his gran failed Charms. And when he is so pleased with his present of a Mimbulus Mimbletonia.

Favorite Luna moment:
Her conversation with Harry about the Thestrals in OoP. Also when McG gives her 50 points for her role at the DoM.

Favorite Snape moment:
Too many to list, of course. But I'm very fond of a) the duelling lesson with Lockhart, b) the scene in OoP when he tells Umbridge he's all out of Veritaserum, c) the scene in CoS when he and Minerva and the other teachers in the staff room force Lockhart to agree to enter the Chamber, and d) that heart-wrenching statement: "lately, only those I could not save."

Favorite Dumbledore moment:
When he prevents Umbridge from kicking Trelawney out of the castle

Favorite Voldemort moment:
In the graveyard scene in GoF, when he sees the DEs again for the first time -- it's so clear that he's got all their numbers; no one fools him but Snape. Very chilling.

Favorite Sirius moment:
In OoP, his confrontation with Severus in the kitchen of Grimmauld Place, when they nearly hex each other. Severus gets the best of that exchange, I think -- he's more in control and treats Sirius like an annoying little boy.

Favorite Weasley family moment:
The saddest one -- when they are all gathered around Fred's body in the Great Hall. It's not a "favorite" in the sense that I like it, but I find it moving.

Favorite Draco moment:
When he doesn't identify Harry at Malfoy Manor in DH

These next teacher questions weren't part of the original meme, but I'm putting them in anyway:

Favorite Flitwick moment:
All of his Battle of Hogwarts scenes, and the way he handles Umbridge during his classroom inspection

Favorite Sprout moment:
The moment just before the Battle starts, when she and Minerva exchange "a look of grim determination."

Favorite Pomfrey moment:
In OoP, when she's so angry that Minerva has been injured. "As if one of them could have Stunned Minerva McGonagall face-on by daylight."

Favorite McGonagall moment:
Almost all of them, really (though I don't like her use of Imperio in DH or the fact that she bends the rules to get Harry a broom in PS). But I'll try to limits myself to three five ten:
a) Her staffroom scene with Wilhelmina in OoP
b) Her Umbridge classroom inspection
c) Her return from St. Mungo's, when she meets Harry, Draco, and Snape in the entry hall
d) All her battle scenes except the Imperio and the silly "charging" of desks
e) The classroom scene where she tells Harry that if he dies, he doesn't have to turn in his homework
f) "Tripe, Sybill?"
g) The scene where she tells Neville that his gran failed Charms
h) The scene where she returns Harry's Firebolt to him. "Seriously?" gasps Harry. "Seriously," says McG. That's also where she says how "Professor Snape was kind enough to remind" her that Gryffindor has lost at Quidditch for several years in a row.
i) The scene in CoS where she and the rest of the staff force Lockhart to agree to go into the Chamber
h) The scene of Sybill's firing, when, until after Dumbles arrives, Minerva is the only person who shows her public support.
j) Careers Advice
k) When she whips out her wand during the confrontation in Dumbledore's office in OoP and shouts," he will not be single-handed!" And then coolly protects Harry and Marietta.
l) The scene in GoF after Barty Jr is unmasked. She stands guard over him with a wand-hand that is "quite steady."

(So, yeah, that's 13. So just pretend I'm JKR and can't add.)

Moment that will always make you cry:
I'm a terrible person in that I rarely cry at books. But I did feel a suspicious pricking-of-my-eyes when the Weasleys gather around Fred's body and when Moody dies.

Favorite LJ HP community:
I couldn't possibly pick just one. But I do really enjoy Crack_Broom.

Most ridiculous Potter theory you've heard:
I'm not quite sure what this means. What sort of theory? I suppose the whole notion that the series is Satanic because it contains magic.

OWL/NEWT examiner

Which would you rather see -- a sequel or a prequel:
A sequel

Put the movies in order from favorite to least favorite:
Can't, really. I enjoyed the movies, but found them mostly forgettable except for particular moments. And I was very disappointed by how Minerva got written out of OoP.

EITHER/OR
Floo powder or broom: broom
Bernie Bott's Every Flavor Beans or Chocolate Frogs: Chocolate Frogs
Death Eaters or Dumbledore's Army: DA
Fred or George:
Harry or Emo!Harry: Harry
The Ministry of Magic or Gringotts: MoM
Sirius or Lupin: Lupin
Occlumency or Legilimency: Occlumency. I don't want to be in anyone else's mind. My own is terrifying interesting enough.
Animagus or Metamorphagus: Animagus
Mermish or Parselmouth: Parselmouth. How many merpeople are you likely to run into?
Draco or Lucius: Lucius. Draco is callow.
Peter Pettigrew or Mundungus Fletcher: Neither. But I suppose Mundungus, annoying as he is, is preferable to Peter. M is just a snake, while Peter is a snake in the grass. Far more dangerous.
Whomping Willow or Flying Ford Anglia: Flying Ford Anglia
Invisibility cloak or Pensieve: I want both!
Grimmauld Place or The Burrow: Neither
Werewolf or Inferi: What, as a pet? Or to control as a legion of minions? If the latter, then Inferi
Herbology or Care of Magical Creatures: Herbology
Professor Binns or Professor Umbridge: Binns. I love history, Plus, he might not have been boring at all; maybe that's just Harry's superficial inability to like history.
Yule Ball or Quidditch Championship: Yule Ball. I'm not much for sports.
Peeves or Nearly Headless Nick: Nearly Headless. Peeves really gets on my nerves.
Hippogriff or Thestrals: Thestrals
Durmstrang or Beauxbatons: Neither
S.P.E.W or the Inquisitorial Squad: S.P.E.W.
Three Broomsticks or The Leaky Cauldron: The Three Broomsticks
Portkey or Apparation: Apparation
