This story was my entry in the 2012 dysfuncentine, an anti-Valentine's Day fest on LiveJournal. The writing prompt I selected was this one: "Every couple has their version of what they call the truth."

You'll find a more self-doubting Minerva than I usually write, but I think canon leaves space for an interpretation of her as isolated and uncertain (not professionally, but personally). And a self-hating Severus also seems plausible. I wanted to explore what sort of relationship these damaged people might have.
