A Treat for You

A while ago,
miss_morland offered to write HP fic in exchange for a donation to Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières. Hmmmm....give money to a good cause AND get a story by one of my favorite HP writers? A no-brainer, obviously.
So I sent in my donation, and Miss M has responded with an absolute winner of Minerva story. It's a companion piece to her excellent entry in the very first
minerva_fest in 2010: The Lost Country, a powerful heart-breaker of a story about Minerva and her mother (written before Pottermore, so wonderfully non-compliant). I suggest that you read that story first, and then turn to this beautifully restrained and poignant follow-up:
A Clean Wound (Minerva McGonagall, OFC, G)
You won't be sorry. Just when you think HP might be exhausted as a source of fic, along comes something like this.
And while I'm on the topic of HP fandom, let me squee about one of my favorite fests:
hoggywartyxmas, which is back for another run. Sign-ups are open until September 21, so hustle on over there and throw your hat into the ring.
