HP Fandom Fun

Over a week ago (where the HELL does the time go???) I promised a post about fandom doings -- HP, of course. Well, here I am finally getting around to it.

First and most wondrously and amazingly, let me tell you about a fabulous gift I received.

No, wait -- first, let me offer a testimonial. I HAVE THE BEST FANDOM FRIENDS EVER!! Period. Bar none.

What did these wonderful friends do? They gave me my own fandom community as a retirement gift. Each of these lovely people custom-created a piece of HP fanfic or art just for me, tailored exactly to my fandom loves. My very own personal RETIREMENT BASH!

These superb stories and artworks are far too glorious for me to keep selfishly to myself, so I urge you all to join the comm and read/look at them for yourselves. Leave feedback. You won't be sorry.

For quite a while now, I've been intending to participate in firewhiskeyfic, a mini-fest run by the clever torino10154 and sdk. The premise is simple but brilliant: you drink a lot and then, in a fit of inebriated inspiration, you create something fannish. The results are hilarious and wonderful.

I finally had the chance to throw my hat into the ring at last Saturday's firewhisky bash. I actually wrote something! -- for the first time since December.

Go forth and read and vote (for categories like "most incoherent" and "best smut"). Voting is open here until August 1. Several flisties have joined the fun.
