My lovelies! How are you all?

Here are a few fun things that are happening in the realm of HP fandom:

1. Some of my stories have been translated into Russian! You can look at them by following the links below. (And if you know Russian, you can read them, too!) Here are the two most recent ones; there are a few others as well. All can be found on AO3.

Tasting the Tempest (Wilhelmina Grubbly-Plank)

and

Twas the Night Before Christmas (Minerva McGonagall/Poppy Pomfrey)

I'm having inordinate amounts of fun putting chunks of the Russian versions into Google Translate and seeing how they compare to the originals.

2. Holiday Fests! To wit. . .

Snape Showcase
[info]snapecase: Celebrating Severus Snape throughout his ages!

[community profile] snapecase sign-ups begin 1 October! Read about it here. This fest is always of good quality. I'd love to participate, but unfortunately, I always have too much going on in early December to meet the deadline. But I'll look forward to reading.

[community profile] mini_fest is back! I always have such a soft spot for this fest. It's one of the first I participated in, back in the day. In fact, I think I was part of the inaugural running. I was still in the heady rush of my early HP obsession, and like an idiot, I signed up for seven different holiday fests in 2009. Madness. I was sure that I'd never finish them all, but somehow I did. [community profile] mini_fest was one of them.

You can sign up here!

And isn't that Pomona banner a delight? It's by our own [personal profile] shadowycat.

Finally, the pièce de résistance, the fest of all fests, the highlight of the holidays: [community profile] hoggywartyxmas!

What are you waiting for? Go sign up NOW! There are still six slots open, and you don't want to miss out.

Remember back in June, when we were all talking about a potential threat in the EU to fandom and to internet freedom? Here's my post about it. Initially, the threat seemed to be averted; the proposals were defeated.

I could be mis-reading, but it sounds as if those restrictive policies have been sneaked into EU regulations after all. Here's an article from The Guardian.

Please tell me I've got it wrong.
