hp_halloween drabble fest was a total treat. The number of stellar entries this year was impressive. 2017 marked my eighth year of participation, and I hope we'll have at least eight more. This fest is now one of my favorite traditions: On Halloween, I look forward all day to coming home, parking myself in the recliner with tea and Halloween candy, and just enjoying drabble after drabble.

ragdoll, and it's a real winner. She chose one of my favorite pairings -- McGonagall/Moody -- and, in lyrical prose, gave me everything I wanted: perfect Halloween atmosphere, a clever magical ritual, and spot-on characterization. Minerva and Alastor are just as I like them: stalwart, tender, pragmatic, enduring. Thank you, my dear!
