A few items of fannish interest --

• Downton Season 4 -- The Dowager Countess Returns!! **Spoiler Alert -- There Be Season 3 Spoilers in this article**

[info]hp_beholder is back for 2013! Check out the information post here. Sign-ups begin in two weeks.

Quartet has finally opened near me. I'll see if Partner wants to go this weekend; if not (she's no Maggie Smith fan), I'll head off myself.

Marry, Fuck, Kill
I thoroughly enjoyed reading all your responses to the M-F-K quiz that I posted about yesterday. Here are my choices:

Judi Dench/Maggie Smith/Helen Mirren: For me, M= Dench, F = Smith, and K = Mirren.
Smith would be far too high-maintenance for marriage, while Dench seems like she would be fun and fairly even-tempered. Though I love Mirren for all sorts of reasons, she doesn't set the blood singing in my romantic veins.

Ian McKellan/Michael Gambon/"Mad-Eye Moody" [aka Brendan Gleeson]: For me, M = Gleeson, F = McKellan, K = Gambon.
Gambon gets on my nerves, as does Dumbledore. Gleeson is both hot and seems like a good long-term prospect (given his long, happy marriage, though he is apparently willing to throw it over for my sake). As for McKellan, a one-night-stand is probably all that he or I would be interested in.

Alan Rickman/Patrick Stewart/Avery Brooks: For me, M = Brooks, F = Rickman, K = Stewart
Brooks seems the most interesting for conversation as well as F'ing. Rickman can be sensually compelling, which is all you need for fucking. Stewart, sadly, often seems like an arrogant ass.

And for a little extra HP fun -- Here's a killer of a choice just for the OLSB: Minerva McGonagall/Poppy Pomfrey/Wilhelmina Grubbly-Plank.

Go on, dears, make your choices. It's good mental discipline.
