No, I'm not doing my grading, but I have an excuse!
Remix Madness 2012 has gone live, and I got fic! A Minerva/Severus remix, to be exact, from a kind anonymous donor whom I'll love forever. Based on my original story 'My Journal About My Life and Stephen and Miranda' By Adela
Here's the story: Somewhere to Be Rated G.
I haven't read it yet (because I'm one of those annoying people who likes to postpone her pleasures, having been brainwashed as a kid by my mother into actually believing that anticipation is half the fun.) But I'm sure I won't be able to restrain myself for long.
ETA: I've read it now, and it is beyond fantastic. Here is the Severus I would love to be able to write. This is writing that's close to the bone, so deep inside (what I imagine to be) Severus's head that it's a wonder my dear remixer found hir way out again. That last line is perfection.
And guess what else! (she shouts, using up two-thirds of her life's allotment of exclamation points in one post). There are three -- count 'em, three -- other OLSB remixes on the comm. Check these out:
Colour My World (Amelia Bones/Poppy Pomfrey) based on
woldy's excellent Escape Routes For a Stormy Night
An Unwilling Bachelor on a Sunday Morning (Argus Filch; Minerva McGonagall/Irma Pince) based on
tetleythesecond's wonderful Spinsters on a Sunday Morning
Purple Lace (Minerva McGonagall/Alastor Moody) based on
thistlerose's fabulous Even After All These Years
Add in
dueltastic's recently-posted We Change the Nature of Things (Minerva McGonagall/Severus Snape/Albus Dumbledore), and you've got. . .
A conspiracy. That's what it is, isn't it? A fiendish plot designed to keep me from grading my papers, so that I'll fail to do my job properly, the students will complain, and I'll get the sack, lose my house, be on the street, catch pneumonia, and expire.
Ah, but at least I'll die happily reading.
