Sickness TMI
Feb. 14th, 2011 08:17 pmArgh. At 5:30 this afternoon, I felt fine. At 6:00, I ate a very early dinner, because I have serious writing I have to do tonight.
But by 6:30, I had excruciating stomach/intestinal pains. By 7:00, I had chills, shakes, cold sweats, and the shout-out-loud pain. By 7:30, dinner had been lost, and I had crawled (seriously...I was too dizzy to stand) to the bed, where I piled all the blankets on top of me and still couldn't get warm and still had pains, though not nearly as bad.
Now it's about 8:25, and I feel normal again, except for some abdominal tenderness and the occasional mild pain, and I'm still unusually chilly.
What gives? Of course I'm convinced it's a) stomach cancer, b) an intestinal obstruction (perforated bowel! peritonitis!), c) salmonella or e-coli, d) Narcissa's voodoo doll.
What did I have for dinner? Well, I'm sort of embarrassed to say; it's not exactly healthy: a (not small) bowl of amaretto cherry chocolate chip ice cream (all that talk of ice cream on my LJ the other day finally drove me to the freezer case at the market). (In my defense, though, I was going to eat the main course later -- chicken, rice, and red and green peppers in a curry sauce. But I think I'll skip it now.)
Ouch.
And I still have my writing to do.
