snapecase has posted its
reveals, and they are a combination of wonderful surprises and moments of correct-guessing satisfaction (aha, I
knew that was you,
perverse_idyll and
camillo1978, and I suspected you,
duniazade).
The flist acquitted itself admirably. No one will be surprised to learn that the awe-inspiring
In Infinite Remorse of Soul is by
perverse_idyll. The excellent
No Pepper-Up for the Brave comes from
duniazade. That sizzling-hot
Step On is by
camillo1978. And that clever story from the pov of Snape's nightclothes,
A Merry Yarn, is by
dreamy_dragon73.
Probably no one will be surprised, either, to find that I wrote
Mutability. (
What??? Kelly wrote the lone Severus/Minerva?)
Part of what I love about fests is that you discover wonderful authors that you never knew before. It was last year's Severus's Birthday Shorts fest (the precursor to Snapecase) that introduced me to
duniazade, for instance. And this year, the great find is a writer named
musamihi, author of two of my favorite stories from the fest:
To Dwell on Dreams and
Wherewithal. To write one fabulous story per fest is an accomplishment, but to write
two, with one of them as a pinch-hit...well. Let's just say I'm impressed. (I don't mean that
musamihi is a "new" author, just that she's new to me. I looked at her profile [yes, I'm a shameless fangirl stalker; why do you ask?], and she seems to write mostly H/D and Malfoys, which may be why our paths haven't crossed [despite my happy association with my various darling H/D friends; this means you, dear
melusinahp and
vaysh11 and
themostepotente.]) But you can bet I'm going to be checking out
musamihi's other works. And she's signed up for Beholder, too!
Well, enough gushing and squeeing for now. I have a
dysfuncentine fic to
start finish.
Oh, one last thing. . .
iulia_linnea, the excellent Snapecase mod, is going to run another interesting fest this summer, called
hogwarts_houses. Check it out; it looks like fun.
(
snapecase is going to run again next year, too, which means I'll have some hard decisions to make. I don't know if I can do both Snapecase
and
snapelyholidays again, not when they have almost the same writing period and deadlines.)
