Yes, I bought some MegaMillions lottery tickets -- $5 worth.
Yes, I know I could have done something worthwhile with that money.
Yes, I understand that my chance of winning is 1 in 176 million.
Or, make that, yes, I understand that my chance of winning is .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 to the billionth nth.
But.
640 million fucking dollars.
Surely even an infinitesimal chance of winning that much money is worth a little bit of foolishness.
If I win, I'm hosting an all-expenses-paid Fangirl Gathering. In the Caribbean. Get your passports ready.
And I'm going to retire.

Date: 2012-03-31 02:22 am (UTC)And wow, in Canada, the biggest lottery is capped at 50 million (although lottery winnings aren't taxed here, at least). Admittedly, I'm a regular buyer of lottery tickets. It's cheaper than drinking, and I get a week of fantasizing in return.
