The first album (vinyl then) I ever bought with my own money was the Beatles' White Album. Loved it; played it to death. If the Beatles had published poetry (beyond their lyrics), I would have read it for sure.

I shouldn't make fun of Mulgrew (or Jewel either, for that matter). I think it's very brave of anyone to write something, put their heart into it, and then put it out there for the merciless public to judge. And maybe KM will turn out to be good.

But in general, I tend to think that the only famous people who should publish poetry are the ones who got famous by writing poetry. (Same goes for children's books -- the number of celebs writing children's books is mind-boggling. Some aren't too bad, but others. . . I guess people must think that writing children's books is easier than writing adult novels. If they only knew how hard it is.)
