Art
MY GLORIOUS GIFT -- A Peaceful Haven by Anonymous (Minerva McGonagall and dozens of delightful books; G)
One of my art prompts asked for "Hogwarts professors in their offices," and my (not so) Mystery Artist came through in spades. This detailed drawing repays long study: you'll have a grand time exploring Minerva's eclectic book collection (supported by a good supply of Ogden's, of course). I love this; what a great gift.
Surprise Meeting in Hogsmeade by Anonymous (Minerva McGonagall/Eileen Prince Snape, Severus Snape; G)
One of those artworks that tells an entire story in one frame. . .and what a lovely holiday frame it is. The work is full of vivid, rich color and emotion, beautifully composed.
Fic
Bibliomancy by Anonymous (Irma Pince/Minerva McGonagall, Irma Pince/Helga Hufflepuff, plus a fine supporting cast including Beedle the Bard and more; PG).
This fic thrilled my book lover's heart. It has one of the most inventive premises I've seen in ages: the notion that a magical librarian is called into being by the founding documents of their institution. If you like stories of clever magical theory and fine characterization, you'll love this.
Ding Dong Merrily on High by Anonymous (Everyone/Everyone [sort of], plus the Bloody Baron, the Fat Friar, Sir Nicholas deMimsy-Porpington, the Grey Lady, Peeves, and Moaning Myrtle; G)
One of the funniest, wittiest, most clever fics I've read in a long time. With imaginative magic to boot. The author's perfectly-paced humor and turns of phrase are a delight.
