Fandom Snowflake Day 1

Day 01

In your own space, talk about why you are doing the Fandom Snowflake Challenge? What drew you to it as a participant? What do you hope to accomplish by doing these challenges?

Okay, so I'm a day late with my "Day 1" answer. But as the sign says, this is a low-pressure event.

My answer -- Even though I never seem to manage more than a few days' worth of responses, I like the Snowflake Challenge because it's something fun and cheery for the often less-than-cheery days of early January. Especially in fandom terms, there can be a let-down after the excitement of the holiday fests and exchanges. So the Snowflake Challenge is a good way to keep fandom interest alive and to keep us all connected with each other as we pack away the the decorations, cut out most of the foods worth eating, and think about how many tedious tasks we now have to do because we've been glibly telling ourselves that we wouldn't worry about them until "after the holidays."
