Some Fic and Comm Recs

Thank you all for putting up with my fanfic whinge of the other day. I've decided to take a week or so off from writing to see if I can re-energize myself.

In the meantime, the hp_ssc_fest (for stories featuring consensual bdsm) has concluded. I enjoyed it -- not only were several of the stories just excellent, but the fest featured the widest range of pairings of any I've seen, from the standard (H/D, SSHG) to the unique (Augusta/Wilhelmina), from next gen to my favorite "old ladies." There were 26 entries and at least 25 different pairings, and four -- yes, four!! -- Minerva stories. Though some of the fics were PWP, there were also quite a few that offered my favorite sort of bdsm, the kind where the kink reveals character.

Hands by mcgonagallsgirl (Minerva/Hermione) Quiet and understated, with lovely imagery. I wanted more of this fic.

The Phoenix and the Toad by cranky__crocus (Augusta/Wilhelmina) I'm a sucker for communal coven seduction.

And now -- would you all like something for Christmas? If you don't celebrate Christmas, would you like a present anyway? If so, I recommend the ultimate low-pressure fest, hoggywartyxmas It's going to be like a mini hp_beholder, featuring all the HP teachers and school staffers and oldsters and oddballs. Prompting starts tomorrow (Sept. 15).
