Shoeless Joe

Well, I didn't buy the shoes. After dinner, I and my fashion consultants (a.k.a. the partner and child) set out for the shoe store. I modeled the shoes, and my partner's opinion was that they looked weird because the ankle part of the boot is not tight/form-fitting, but wide. I thought it might make for an interesting look, but she felt they just looked like galoshes. We're both fine with looking strange in a good way, but she says these were just strange in a strange way.

So I'll either have to save up for the Woldy version or else I'll keep my eye out for similar shoes with tighter ankles. (With luck, we'll be seeing more of this style.) (Or I'll just give it up altogether; my god, I could stock a shoe-consignment shop as it is. I hardly need more.)

After the failed shopping expedition, we consoled ourselves with gelato, so the evening was not a total loss.

Sorry to hear the shoes didn't work out - they look like a very nice substitute for the Fluevogs. At least you can feel like a model of financial propriety :-)
