GI Wanna Go Home

I wanna go home!  But I'm snowed in at my brother's.  (Well, actually, I've dug myself out to the internet cafe; there's only so much no-internet stir-craziness that I can stand.)  The weather should clear by tomorrow (of course, that's what they said about today.  But unless it's the blizzard of the century, I absolutely must leave tomorrow; I have three meetings on Monday.)

Things could be much worse, obviously.  I mean, I'm safe, warm, caffeinated, have no plane reservations to worry about, have a good and free place to stay.  But damned if I'm not ready to be home!!  Well, I'm at least going to finish the draft of my rare-pare shorts fest fic.

Speaking of FESTS!  The [livejournal.com profile] severusbigbang is up and running.  Here's my entry:  "'My Journal about My Life and Stephen and Miranda' by Adela."  It's PG-13 (sorry).  It's gen/lite romance.  It stars Severus and....well, you'll have to read to find out.  It's a surprise that you'll never in a million years guess.  I'm rather pleased by this story, if I do say so.

There are several Severus/Minerva stories, two by flisties ([livejournal.com profile] therealsnape , [livejournal.com profile] queen_of_snapes) and one by someone I've not read before, [livejournal.com profile] m_mcgonagall_65, who has written 45K !! of SS/MM. So far, I've read only [livejournal.com profile] therealsnape's story, "The Rules," but it is (of course) a winner, set during that fascinating DH year and containing all the things I love about the pairing:  snarky banter, unspoken regard, just enough poignance and pain.  (Well, maybe not all the things I love -- hot sex was missing last time I checked, but who knows what they've got up to in the meantime?)

How have I never seen that pun in your subject line before?

Ha! My brother was watching M*A*S*H reruns over the weekend -- there's an episode where they sing that little ditty, and it's been on my mind.
