I'm glad to hear it! At the one Trek con I attended (in the US in 2001), she was dynamic and interesting on stage and very distant at the autograph-signing. In the time I observed (which was probably about ten minutes from the time the autograph line got close enough for me to see her till the time I was finished and had moved off the signing platform), she rarely looked up, and she spoke only once, kindly but very briefly, to a little girl. I can truthfully say that though I stood within 18 inches of her, she never actually laid eyes on me or on any of the others in the line (at least during my time there). She'd have been able to swear on oath in a court of law that she'd never seen us. She just signed each photo mechanically and reached for the next. But I'm sure it's tiring, doing those cons.
